About BMW Golf Cup International



This year, the National Final will take place towards the end of January 2020. There will be qualifying events across South Africa leading up to the final. We are very excited to announce that this year’s BMW Golf Cup International Series will be following a new format.


We have decided to open this event up to amateur golfers around South Africa and it will take place as follows:

  • Round 1 will take place at member’s days at Golf Clubs around South Africa.
  • The 3 winners of the member’s day will then be invited to participate at their regional Round 2 golf day. They will compete alongside other winners of the member’s golf day as well as various guests of the BMW dealers.
  • The top 3 winners (3 from each handicap division) of each Round 2 golf day will be invited to attend the BMW GCI National Final where they will compete for the opportunity to represent South Africa in the BMW Golf Cup International World Final 2019.

The BMW Golf Cup International in South Africa is played on an Individual Stableford format with three handicap categories:


  • 01 Men’s A Handicap 0 – 12
  • 02 Men’s B Handicap 13 – 28
  • 03 Ladies Handicap 0 – 28

One winner from each category will ultimately be selected to compete at the BMW GCI world finals next year.
