BMW electric cars BMW Wallbox

CHARGING MADE EASY.

Use your own wallbox to charge your electric car conveniently from the comfort of your own home. Charge it overnight to start the day with a charged battery. The benefits of having your own charging station: you save time and your electric car charges reliably at home.

BMW electric cars maintenance costs

LOW RUNNING COSTS.

Reduce CO2 and save costs. The ongoing service costs of an electric car are lower compared to a combustion engine car. As some parts are not susceptible to wear, like spark plugs, oil filters or an exhaust system, the service costs are lower.

ELECTRIC DRIVE TECHNOLOGY.

BMW electric cars fast acceleration

FAST ACCELERATION.

An electric motor uses its full power efficiently and spontaneously. Maximum torque is available from the start, getting you to maximum speed without shifting gear.

    Stop(s)

    Charging stops needed

This is the probable number of charging stops that you will need on your route.

Only actually existing charging points are considered (as per 25 April 2023) with shortest possible diversions and an initial charge level of 100%.

High-power charging stations (e.g. From the IONITY network) are preferred because they charge your vehicle with the maximum capacity.

    How were these values calculated?

The sample routes give you an estimate of the expected journey time including any necessary charging breaks with an initial charge level of 100%. They assume that charging points are vacant and functioning and show the fastest route option without any traffic hold-ups or other delays. The information on charging breaks and their duration assumes that you take the breaks with a minimum of 10% residual charge level.

Other important information: The charging capacity depends on the charge level, ambient temperature, individual driving profile and use of auxiliary devices. The charging times apply to ambient temperatures of 23 degrees Celsius after a preceding drive and may differ depending on the usage behaviour.

    h

    Total charging time

This is the total time that you will probably need for charging along your route. Only actually existing charging points are considered (as per 25 April 2023) with shortest possible diversions and an initial charge level of 100%.

High-power charging stations (e.g. From the IONITY network) are preferred because they charge your vehicle with the maximum capacity.

    h

    Total journey time incl. Charging

The journey time indicated is the sum of estimated driving time plus charging time if you have to include charging breaks on your route.

It is assumed that you are travelling on the fastest route without any traffic hold-ups or other delays.

The charging capacity depends on the charge level, ambient temperature, individual driving profile and use of auxiliary devices as well as the actual vehicle selected. The charging times apply to ambient temperatures of 23 °C following a prior journey and may deviate according to usage characteristics. The values displayed are examples for the basic configuration of the model selected. The values may vary if the same vehicle has different equipment options.

    Public Charging

    High-power charging station

You can charge your BMW iX2 particularly quickly at a high-power charging station (e.g. from the IONITY network). The direct current (DC) provided here offers significantly higher charging power than alternating current (AC), such as that from a household socket. This is why such high-power charging stations are particularly ideal for charging on the move. The diagram shows the minimum charging time required from 10 to 80 % battery charge level with maximum vehicle charging power. Within this range, charging is fastest and also preserves the battery. A look at the map shows you all the high-power charging stations within the BMW Charging network. (Valid as of 22/03/2023)

    Fast charging station

If you need to act quickly in the city or while travelling, a fast charging station is just the right choice. This is because the direct current (DC) provided at these stations offers higher charging capacities than with alternating current (AC), such as that supplied by a domestic socket. This is why fast charging stations such as these are especially suitable for charging when you are travelling. In the display, you can see the minimum time needed to charge from 10 to 80 % of the battery charge level with up to 50 kW output. Within this range, charging is fastest and also preserves the battery. A look at the map shows you all fast charging station within the BMW Charging network. (Valid as of 22/03/2023)

    AC charging station

You will find public charging stations with alternating current (AC) almost everywhere. They are especially suitable for regular charging over longer periods of time – such as overnight or while you are at work. In the display, you will find the minimum time for charging from 0-100 % battery charge level with a maximum output of 22 kW. In the display, you will find the minimum time for charging from 0-100 % battery charge level with a maximum output of 22 kW. Take a look at the map and discover all the charging stations with alternating current in the BMW Charging network. (Valid as of 22/03/2023)

    Home Charging

    Wallbox / Flexible Fast Charger

At home, you can conveniently charge your BMW iX2 with a wallbox or the Flexible Fast Charger. Alternating current (AC) is used for both. Depending on the vehicle, special equipment and market, the Wallbox provides a maximum charging output of 22 kW, the Flexible Fast Charger a maximum of 11 kW. In the display, you will see the minimum time for charging from 0-100% battery charge level with an output of 11 kW.

[1] Official data for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, power consumption and electric range was determined in accordance with the prescribed measuring procedure and corresponds to European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the applicable version. For ranges, data determined as per WLTP takes into account any optional equipment (available on the German market in this case). For vehicles that have been newly type approved since 1 January 2021, only the official data according to WLTP exists. In addition, NEDC values are deleted from the certificates of conformity as of 1 January 2023 by EC regulation 2022/195. The charging times apply to ambient temperatures of 23 degrees Celsius after a preceding drive and may differ depending on the usage behaviour.
