At BMW, your safety is our priority. The Takata Airbag Recall is one of the largest recall campaigns worldwide and has impacted various manufacturers. We continue to conduct rigorous quality inspections to maintain the highest standards of safety for our customers and we have identified that a number of BMWs may be affected by this campaign.
What this means for you.
Some BMW models produced between 1999 and 2018 may be affected by the Takata airbag recall. These vehicles may have been fitted with airbag inflators produced by Takata that may degrade and become faulty over time. This could affect how the airbag performs if deployed, potentially causing serious injury.
We’re taking proactive steps to support you, with clear guidance and a simple repair process if your BMW is affected.
What you need to do.
Check if your vehicle is affected by entering its Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in the table below. If your vehicle is affected, please book a repair with your preferred BMW Service Centre. The work will be carried out free of charge by trained BMW technicians using genuine BMW parts.
