Driving pleasure.
Hydrogen fuel cell technology is a pioneering addition to battery electric vehicles. The BMW iX5 Hydrogen uses hydrogen for an electric driving experience with no time spent charging. A new way to achieve emission-free mobility – efficient, powerful and ready for the future.
BMW iX5 Hydrogen¹: Hydrogen consumption, combined WLTP in kg/100 km: 1.19; CO₂ emissions, combined WLTP in g/km: 0; Electric range, WLTP in km: 504
¹ Range depends on various factors, in particular: individual driving style, route characteristics, outside temperature, heating/air conditioning, pre-conditioning.
Electric driving pleasure. With hydrogen.
The BMW iX5 Hydrogen combines emission-free performance with maximum everyday versatility. Its tank is topped up in just 3-4 minutes and it achieves a range of up to 504 km, regardless of outside temperatures. With 295 kW you’ll experience dynamic driving pleasure, while the short refuelling time keeps you flexible on longer journeys as well.
“Hydrogen is the missing piece in the jigsaw when it comes to emission-free mobility. One technology alone will not be enough to ensure climate-neutral mobility worldwide.”
Oliver Zipse – Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG
Technical Data.
The BMW iX5 Hydrogen delivers 295 kW and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 6 seconds. Its maximum speed is over 180 km/h. Two hydrogen tanks with a total capacity of 6 kg provide for a range of 504 km according to the WLTP. Consumption is a mere 1.19 kg of hydrogen per 100 km. Refuelling takes just minutes: the BMW iX5 Hydrogen thus boasts unlimited everyday versatility combined with emission-free driving.

Consumption and CO₂ emissions.
BMW iX5 Hydrogen¹: Hydrogen consumption, combined WLTP in kg/100 km: 1.19; CO₂ emissions, combined WLTP in g/km: 0; Electric range, WLTP in km: 504

Official data for fuel consumption, CO₂ emissions, power consumption and electric range was determined in accordance with the prescribed measuring procedure and corresponds to European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the applicable version. For ranges, data determined as per WLTP takes into account any optional equipment (available on the German market in this case). For vehicles that have been newly type approved since 1 January 2021, only the official data according to WLTP exists. In addition, NEDC values are deleted from the certificates of conformity as of 1 January 2023 by EC regulation 2022/195.
