A collector’s item full of emotion.

Classic luxury features, precise craftsmanship and Shooting Brake design come together in the BMW Concept Speedtop to form a unique experience. This strictly limited small-series production continues the sporty Touring legacy of BMW and offers a bespoke experience for all senses – making sheer driving pleasure truly tangible.

A true BMW exudes dynamism and elegance even when it's standing still. And that's also the case with our concept car. The BMW Concept Speedtop is characterised first of all by its profile. It is very unique in the automotive industry. In this way, we have created an exclamation mark for our entire lineup of vehicles, especially for the Touring models.

Longing for the special moment.

The BMW Concept Speedtop is a masterpiece of automotive craftsmanship that has been created for special moments. Many of the materials have been prepared, combined and perfected in careful manual work – a passion for precision that sparks emotions. Such utmost attention to detail characterises the BMW Concept Speedtop: highest manufacturing quality, manually selected materials, stylish exclusivity and timeless elegance.

Striking proportions, exclusive details.

The BMW Concept Speedtop is defined by its markedly slim waist and the striking shape of the shark nose. The flowing silhouette is reminiscent of the long-standing tradition of BMW Touring models. The BMW Speedtop constitutes the highest and most exclusive embodiment of this tradition of Touring and Shooting Brake models.

The elegance of the vehicle is highlighted by two-tone rims in 14-spoke fan design that were designed specifically for the BMW Concept Speedtop.

Exterior highlight central spine.

An eye-catching highlight of the exterior design is the flowing transition of the central spline from the hood across the roof and up to the rear spoiler. This line is emphasised additionally by a colour gradient from “Floating Sunstone Maroon” to “Floating Sundown Silver” on the roof.

Winglets.

An elegant design using an intelligent reductionist approach is only possible with utmost precision in the details. The vehicle is opened by small “winglets” attached to the upper door panel.

Athletic profile.

The vehicle has been sculpted with the courage to use a timeless reductionist design with a markedly slim waist. The profile is characterised by elegant flowing lines that shape an athletic Shooting Brake in the tradition of legendary Touring classics.

From the bird‘s eye view, the strongly defined slim waist, the arrow-shaped hood and the typical shark nose design reminiscent of iconic BMW vehicles such as the BMW 503 or the BMW Z8 catch the eye.

Highest level of craftmanship.

The sparkling brown exterior paintwork in “Floating Sunstone Maroon” carries over into the interior. Here, the brown “Sundown Maroon” world blends harmoniously with the light “Moonstone White” of the seats. The two-tone leather trim forms a visual distinction between the dynamic and the functional part of the interior.

The distinctive exterior roof spline is mirrored in the interior as a light gap in the headlining finished in two-tone leather, which also serves as indirect atmospheric lighting. The luggage compartment is also finished in leather perforated in Budapest style. A light gap illuminates the luggage compartment, which can also be used to carry larger luggage items for longer trips thanks to its division. The elaborate craftsmanship of the exterior and interior has been achieved relying on the expertise of the manufacturing workshop at the BMW Group plant Dingolfing.

An invitation to dream.

A vehicle as rolling sculpture – and as a collector‘s item charged with emotion: The BMW Concept Speedtop continues the tradition of world premieres at the Concorso d‘Eleganza Villa d‘Este and awakens a desire for driving pleasure. At the same time, however, this design study also is an invitation to dream because it will be produced as a strictly limited, exclusive small series of 70 units. In this way, BMW shows that passion for sheer driving pleasure will remain essential in future.

Discover the interior highlights.

The unique indirect lighting of the headlining takes the form of a long light gap that creates a harmonious blend in the interior between the brown “Sundown Maroon” world and the light “Moonstone White” of the seats. The light gap also mirrors the shape of the spline on the exterior, thus forming the perfect connection between exterior and interior.

Tailored stowage.

Two stowage areas equipped with leather securing straps behind the seats provide space for two tailored bags made by the traditional manufactory Schedoni. These have been created and refined exclusively for the BMW Concept Speedtop and matched to the colour and material.

Crystal inserts.

The play of colours of the crystal inserts in the steering wheel, the gearshift and the seats, among other places, reflects the colour scheme of the interior and is complemented with further accents from the blue colour spectrum.

Luggage compartment.

The thoughtfully designed, complex luggage compartment concept enables luggage for longer trips to be stored intuitively and conveniently. A compartment below the regular luggage compartment provides additional space for further luggage.

Perforation in Budapest style.

The precise perforation pattern of the leather trim on the seats, in the door panels or in the luggage compartment reveals classy artisan details in an homage to the striking brogue style of the classic wingtip shoes.
