At the core of the BMW M4 Coupé is the redeveloped M TwinPower Turbo straight 6-cylinder petrol engine. It's characterised by tremendous power and an unmistakeable sound. The interplay of optimally aligned motorsport technologies allows direct power development with a boost of 317 kW.

The 3.0 l M TwinPower Turbo straight 6-cylinder engine combines the best of both worlds. It boasts high rev characteristics with up to 7,300 rpm and superior power with a maximum of 550 Nm torque. The 317 kW M engine accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds.


Bi-Turbo direct fuel injection and typical M fine-tuning ensure that the engine responds directly to the slightest nudge of the accelerator with enthusiastic boost and excellent torque.


A motorsport suitable cooling concept as well as an additional oil sump cover and oil drain pump, ensure the M engine is ready to take on any challenges. Numerous innovations like sleeveless construction or a lighter, forged crankshaft continue the intelligent lightweight concept, improve dynamics and acceleration, lower consumption and enable an optimal weight distribution of almost 50:50. The reward is unprecedentedly agile driving that’s impressively underscored by the unmistakeable sound of the M engine.
