BMW South Africa offers graduates with an Engineering, Information Technology, Finance and Business Management degree the opportunity to be part of our 24 months graduate development programme.


The BMW Graduate Development programme is designed for Graduates who want to experience something extraordinary, who brings team spirit and initiative combined with the will to continuously learn. The programme consists of a comprehensive work readiness programme, experiential learning and a six months’ workplace rotation based on a uniquely customised individual development plan.


Each Graduate will also be assigned a personal mentor and coach to as a guide throughout the programme as well as access to experienced professionals through structured dialogue and feedback sessions.


The selection for our graduate programme commences from August to December every year. Applicants are assessed and short-listed based on their academic performance and potential fit within the BMW environment. Short-listed applicants are interviewed and the final selection takes place for start of contract by March each year.

BURSARIES.

Bursary Application.


This financial support and development programme for high potential future employees offers participants paid vocational experience, the opportunity to participate in dialogue development sessions with BMW associates, individual projects and assignments as well as the potential to further participate in the BMW SA Graduate Programme. Financial support includes the payment of registration and class fees, accommodation as well as prescribed book and examination fees. Bursaries will be awarded on merit and to be eligible applicants. Students must have completed at least their first semester at University and achieved an academic average of 70% and above to be considered for the program.

STUDENTS PROGRAMME.

Creating prospects while you study.


At BMW we open our office doors and factory gates to students to gain valuable insights into the different occupational fields at the BMW Group. As part of a short, part-time assignment or internship you also get to understand a great deal about people, technology, processes and corporate culture. You learn to put the theory you have studied at university into practice and to hone your teamwork skills. These represent key requirements for your future success in the workplace and put you at a distinct advantage in relation to your fellow students when applying for a job. Practical experience is, after all, a prerequisite for a successful application with the BMW Group and other important industrial companies.

To be eligible applicants must be a registered student at an Accredited Tertiary Institution, with limited to no work experience.


Applications will be accepted throughout the year but student intakes will only take place on a quarterly basis.

LEARNERSHIPS.

The complexity and level of technical competency required to produce our products has resulted in an occupationally directed learning programme that provides sufficient knowledge and skills to meet the minimum technical requirements of the various technologies, with a specific focus on Autrotronics and Mechatronics. The 3 year Learnership programme commences annually on the 1st of March and is conducted by the BMW Technical Training Department at accredited external service providers. It offers participants the opportunity to develop skills and gain BMW specific experience as well as formal Artisan qualification on successful completion of the programme.


Applications will be accepted annually during October and only applicants who have Grade 12 (St 10) with both Mathematics and Science results of 50% and higher will be considered.

SKILLS PROGRAMME.

The unit-based 18-month Skills Programme is a selection of specially synchronized Unit Standards developed to qualify unemployed students in the Assembly and Logistic working environment. The aim is to enhance the knowledge of the students and enable them to practically apply their newly acquired skills on the production line according to production processes and work standards. This programme not only opens promotional, growth and further job opportunities for participants, but also strengthens the company's skills base.


Applications will be accepted annually during the month of February with the minimum requirement being Grade 12 (St 10) with both Mathematics and English.
